Abstract: This article explores the symbolism of “the spiritual field of the province,” a highly marked axiological constant within the artistic and journalistic world of the Kuzbass poet and publicist G. E. Yurov. Based on an analysis of essays from his book “U rodnika na Krasnoy Gorke” (“At the Spring on Krasnaya Gorka”) (2004), the study identifies the author’s strategies for affirming the profound value of patriotism and devotion to one’s native land. The analysis positions Yurov’s texts within his broader creative system, emphasizing his dialogic engagement with a “friendly circle,” a community united by a shared commitment to the spiritual and material culture of Kuzbass, Siberia, and Russia. The author’s strategy of directly declaring his ideals is reinforced by specific artistic and journalistic techniques. These include depicting the unity of spiritual and material essences, developing motifs of memory as the foundation of culture, and personalizing history by highlighting individuals who shaped the Kuznetsk land. Furthermore, the study examines Yurov’s polemical stance against the deconstruction of regional meanings, showing how he relies on documented facts to defend the established cultural identity of the province. Ultimately, the “spiritual field” emerges not as a geographical peripheral but as a vital center of moral and cultural creation.
