Abstract: The article deals with the study of gender stereotypes as the means of conceptualization of the ideas about man and woman within the children's linguistic conscience. Researching the facts received by applying the direct definition method, the author reveals the way how gender stereotypes form within the not completely mature linguistic conscience of schoolchildren not only the man and woman concepts, but also general ideas of masculinity, femininity and interaction between two sexes. Furthermore, gender stereotypes are involved in children's thinking and speaking activities when defining with abstract не знаю, как обозначить признаковые слова, даже в голову ничего не приходит words. This reflects a deep character and high level of assimilation of those cognitive structures.
