Abstract: The paper suggests a new reading of the novel «The Russian Wood» remaining one of the most discussed one in the studies of Leonov’s works (see M. Scheglov, N. Leiderman, Z. Prilepin and others) with due regard for the revealed complexity of intratextual links (cohesion) and of the subtext.
