Abstract:

This paper presents the development of region-specific linguistic personality models, methods for analyzing speech patterns, and relevant modeling domains. Creating a representative model of the “average” regional resident requires carefully selecting the speech activity types within different age and social groups of a specified region. Consequently, a personalized model necessitates identifying a network of individuals and their associated speech products; a discursive model requires specifying regional discursive practices; and an ethnocultural model must represent diverse ethnic speech activities. The creation of a final model involves solving general and specific problems. The general tasks include (1) identifying the types of speech actions used in different communicative situations depending on the purpose and motive of the speaker/writer, as defined by speech act theory; (2) creating a three-dimensional picture by integrating linguistic, sociolinguistic, and psycholinguistic methodologies; (3) applying the “multi-model” principle both to create a model of the same type based on different materials and models of different types based on the same material. The specific tasks involve (1) implementing a trend line of experimental research for subsequently modeling the various components of the speech activity of the representatives of the region; (2) using modern regional data for discursive modeling, i.e., virtual correspondence of people of different ages and different social status; (3) analyzing the speech activity of the representatives of different ethnic groups in the region.
