Abstract: The paper investigates the death motif in the novel «Silver Dove» by Andrej Belyj. Primary this motif has appeared in his verses and then it has turned into prose – «Silver Dove» and «Petersburg». The story of «Silver Dove» is arena of the struggle between Eros and Thanatos connected to the fate of chief hero – Peter Darjalsky. At the same time the plot of this novel symbolizes the distruction of Russia closed between West civilization and East «panmongolizm». Collision of two zones of the Space – Gugolevo and Celebeevo – foretells the tragic end of hero and Russia.
