Abstract: This literature is timed to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous Pushkinist and re-searcher of Russian lyric poetry, Yury Chumakov. It presents and comments on three small fragments of his memories, which the author of the article reproduces as accurately as possible, trying to preserve not only their narrative basis, but also the intonations of Yury Chumakov. A man artistically gifted, he had an extraordinary memory, through which he could describe almost every day of his life in the way that the audience empathized with him, saw, heard, felt this captured past. The recorded fragments are related to his childhood and early adolescence in Saratov (mid-1930s – early 1940s), and each of them is a kind of miniature art, in which both the fate of people and the spirit of that era can be seen.
