Abstract: The specific of the «railway plots» in the modern prose on materials of the collection «Red arrow », created specially for 175 anniversary on Russian railway, consisted of essays, stories and travel diaries, where hero’s trip on railway is the main element, forming the plot, is considered in the article. «Plot repertory» of the modern works about the railway sorts with the «railway canon», formed in the works of XIX century. The parallels, made in the research, allow to draw the conclusions about the specific of transformation of stable plot diagrams of «railway text», the influence of genre, narrative strategy of the author-traveler, changing of the characters system, motive structure and chronotope.
