Abstract: In the third edition a story of Yu. Tynyanov «Wax Person» consists of six chapters. There is an epigraph before every chapter. Some epigraphs are quotations from the drama «Act about Kaleander and Neonilda». There are also quotations from the play in the text of the story. The author of the article believes that the play of the18th century has a big significance for poetic of «Wax Person» novel. The article identifies features of epigraphs, which were taken by Yu. Tynyanov from the drama of the18th century. The article explains why Yu. Tynyanov has repeatedly referred exactly to drama. The conclusion includes an assumption that features of Baroque poetic and theatrical elements have an influence on poetic of novel.
