Abstract:

The study identifies the pragmatic characteristics of time and space which appear in fiction historical discourse. High interdiscourse and intradiscourse pragmaticity of time is found in foregrounding unbounded time duration, its beginning and end, relative character of actions, temporal representation of event participants. As opposed to time, pragmaticity of space is significantly lower appearing in directed participants’ actions, which is due to higher dynamicity of fiction discourse.

Keywords: time, space, historical event, discourse pragmatics, fiction discourse
