Name: From Biosphere to Noosphere: Theory and Practice

Authors: T. S. Simyan

Issue 1, 2019Pages 173-197
UDK: 83:13DOI: 10.25205/2307-1737-2019-1-173-197

Abstract: In the present article it is critically analyzed the following concepts Biosphere, Technosphere, Concept Sphere, Semiosphere, Homosphere, Noosphere. These concepts are offered as a meta-language for the cultural, social processes description, as well as the political systems description. During the analysis of such problems, it becomes very important to focus on discussion of the role of the intellectual, «an intellectual host» who diagnoses the sick society, authoritarian and totalitarian regimes. Besides, the article studies the ecological consciousness on the example of the motif of cutting down of the New Year tree in children's literature, published in the Soviet and post-Soviet textbooks. The presence or absence of these motifs becomes an indicator of environmental awareness, responsibility and its transfer to the next generation. The description of this motif is also a reflection of the value component of the political «top» (the USSR censorship) and intellectuals (authors, compilers, etc.) in the Soviet age. The analysis of the empirical material showed that the motif of the cutting down of the New Year tree is mostly suppressed in the textbooks of the Soviet and post-Soviet era.

Keywords: Biosphere, Technosphere, Concept sphere, Semiosphere, Homosphere, Noosphere, intellectuals, environmental awareness, school textbooks, cutting down trees, Christmas texts
