Abstract: The paper continues the series of the author’ publications devoted to the research into the mechanisms of the formation of folk versions of the bible legends. A comparison between book forms and folk forms of bible narrations demonstrates different variants of relations between book-stories and folklore. This paper considers the examples of plots and motifs of the legends of the Slave Folk Bible, which were transferred from the oral tradition into the written form, into the hand-written book tradition.
