Abstract: The article deals with a function word deerge tracing to the present-past participle ar= in the Dative =ge of the verb di=/de= 'to speak' in the Tuvinian language. In Tuvinian this function word functions as a scaling particle in a simple sentence and specific participle constructions where the participle is used in its personal possessive form. It is assumed that the function word deerge was formed under the influence of the Mongolian languages which are characterized by usage of verbal function word with scaling semantics originating from function verb forms.

Keywords: function word, particle, scaling particle, function verb forms
