Abstract: The paper considers «The Siberian Collection» of N.M. Yadrintsev from the viewpoint of the development of book-writing and publishing in Siberia at the turn of the 20th century. Having initiated the development of the Siberian press, «The Siberian Collection» also became the first regional universal collection, characteristic precisely of the Siberian press of that period. Yadrintsev’s editions, which were published first in Petersburg and then in Irkutsk, are considered in the aspect of a cultural transfer and a dialogue between the literature of the region and that of the Center.

Keywords: siberia, collection, siberian literature, book publishing, cultural transfer
