Abstract: The article discusses the structural variety of syntactic constructions with the semantics of caused motion in ‘Paraenesis’ of Ephraem Syrus (the copy dated to the 20th century) in comparison with contemporary Russian language, proceeding to describe different types of metaphorical transformations that occur among those and the mechanisms behind them.
