Abstract: Study is made of the application of psychoanalysis to the early Dostoevsky’s works undertaken by A.L. Boehm in 1929 in his research paper «Dostoevsky. Psychoanalytic Studies». The work was first published in the emigrant collected papers «On Dostoevsky», edited by Boehm himself. A.L. Boehm investigation expands the range of the knowledge of Dostoevsky, primarily due to the inclusion of «reconstructing the mental type» of the personality of Dostoevsky himself. Hence it is of interest to scrutinize the methodological springs that feed Boehm’s mind.
