Abstract: In the paper an attempts is made to uncover the peculiarities in the functioning of images of insects in science fiction. The research is based on the works of H. Wells and A. Tolstoy, which provide a wide range of entomological connotations in fiction, involving cultural, social, scientific, technical and other spheres.
