Abstract: This article deals with the principles of two layer conceptualized rule ‘cost, richness, money’ which is presented on the examples of Old English lexemes feoh, sceat. On the one hand, they are acquiring general meaning of cost, on the other hand, they come to the expression of the specific material meaning of the carriers of cost.
