Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of interaction of elements of three genres in a classical English detective – detective novel, Gothic novel and Nursery Rhymes. The key element of influence on the reader is the precedent text – the rhyme «Ten Little Niggers» which is the structural basis of a plot, the script of perpetration of murders and a basis for creation of a game element.
