Abstract: The publications under review devoted to the works of Aleksandr Vampilov and Valentin Rasputin anticipate the studies for the 80th anniversary of the world-famous Irkutsk writers in the context of the modern research of Vampilov’s and Rasputin’s heritage. The book of the poet and publicist A. Rumyantsev, who knew the playwright from their student years, released in the series «Life of Remarkable People» sheds light on the life and work of the writer, the fate of his parents, dramatic relationships with theaters and literary criticism. The scientific monograph of I. Plekhanova is based on the principle of typological parallelism as a dialogue between two artistic systems, ontologization of the game process in their artistic interpretation, analysis of the concept of human, psychology of both writers being the result of the moral requirements for a person. This review represents the scientific and practical significance of these books for future researchers of Vampilov and Rasputin. The review begins with little-known information about Vampilov’s activities as a film reviewer based on the memoirs sources.
