Abstract: The paper deals with the peculiarities of the text of the manor in children’s literature of the XX – beginning of XXI century. Characteristic for the culture of the 19th century the manor perception of a being as an important component of national identity is undergoing a significant change in the Soviet and post-Soviet era. The events of the national history of the 20th century led to the displacement of estate culture to the periphery of the national picture of the world. However, signs of estate culture can be found in the art of the 20th century literature, including the children's literature. Chronotopic system of the vacation story, as well as modern fantasy for children, includes, for example, the image of summer pioneer camp, which links the attributes of Soviet ideology and traditions of the manor culture. In addition, children’s unrealistic prose of the early 21st century reveals images of the actual space of the manor as the last character in the context of modernity
