Abstract: The article considers the relationship of spatial images of the war and of the home in K. Simonov’s poetry of the 1941-1945 years. It reveals that these images are the members of the opposition, the foundation of which is rooted in ancient cultural performances. The war and the home are revealed as the variant of opposition «native – alien». The poet shows only a few of the attributes of the home (a table, a door). However, each of these images is highly semiotic in the Slavic culture. The paper describes the cases when the war influences the home space – the image of the occupied home, the rethinking of the values of home embroiled in the war chronotope. The article reveals the individual author’s rethinking of the concept of «home», which transfers the designation on other objects. The transfer mechanism is related to the fact that during wartime the home turns from space that protects into space that is protected.
