Abstract: The paper focuses on the problem of the neo-Victorian cinema as a cultural phenomenon and suggests a classification of the neo-Victorian films. An investigation was carried out which revealed five kinds of neo-Victorian films: the neo-Victorian fiction films; neo-Victorian music video clips and the neo-Victorian video clips; the neo-Victorian films and the neo-Victorian animated films. The neo-Victorian fiction adaptations and neo-Victorian video clips are the most prevalent in the neo-Victorian cinematography. The neo-Victorian cinema as a part of the neo-Victorian art, recreates and reappraises the English way of life of the 19th century in the context of today. It popularizes the Victorianism in the modern society and provides acquaintance with Victorian and neo-Victorian literature without involving the neo-Victorian book, at the same time illustrating this book and contributing to the modern people’s knowledge of the neo-Victorian fiction.
