Abstract: The paper deals with the problems of studying the aesthetic reception of the evangelical discourse, including issues related to the clarification of the terminology used in the analysis of literature in the religious and philosophical aspect. The paper presents a theoretical substantiation of the reasonability of using the term «apostolic text» in the modern literary criticism, defines its content and place in the structure of the Bible, reveals the key characteristics that make it possible to identify both its specific features and points of contact with the concepts «biblical text» and «evangelical text» that have become firmly established in science. Based on the «Memoirs» by P. E. Annenkova, the author of the paper investigates the peculiarities of the apostolic text interpretation in the Russian literature of the 19th century, reveals its meaning and function in the literary memoirs. In particular, she reveals the role of the apostolic discourse in the construction of the author’s model of self-description and the concept of the Decembrist culture.

Keywords: apostolic text, christian axiology, biblical hermeneutics, allusion, motif, gender, reception, context, memoirs, decembrist culture, model of self-description
