Abstract: The article is devoted to the overview and the analysis of archival and published material on the Belarusian Christmas period recorded in the Omsk region. On the territory of the Omsk region the material for the Christmas period from Belarusian migrants and their descendants in a particular amount is fixed by the various expeditionary groups for over 50 years. Most of the material recorded in the Omsk region in the designated category is stored in the collections of the folklore archive of the Omsk State Pedagogical University. In addition to the folklore archive of the Omsk State Pedagogical University records on Belarusian Christmas period of the Irtysh region are stored in the Regional Fund of folklore and ethnographic materials of the State Center of Folk Art, in the Museum of archeology and Ethnography of Dostoyevsky Omsk State University, in a number of publications. Currently there are about 130 lyrics Christmas songs of Belarusian migrants of the Omsk Irtysh region, about 80 descriptions of rites and ritual actions, 75 descriptions of divination. The author describes the textual material in terms of completeness, quality and quantity. The material on the Christmas period Belarusianfolk calendar collected in Omsk region differs in quality. Among the song copruses there are texts of full value with full, finished action as well as reduced ones, detected when compared with more complete Siberian records or Belarusian counterparts. A part of the text material of Christmas songs of Irtysh is sketchy. The number of records in Omsk region allowed making a pivot table of the Belarusian materials for the Christmas period, while the necessary systematization of the substantive elements of text corpuses is possible only if comparing them with the original tradition. A part of the Omsk materials can be attributed with conventional accuracy to a particular Christmas day, but there are many of the records for which the time of the ritual actions is impossible to be determined.The paper analyzes the material relating to “mummers”, and the variants of their namings. In addition, some types of divination and their se-mantic features are characterized. As an outlook the author suggests the implementation of comparative analysis of Omsk Irtysh region material with the original tradition as well as with the traditions of the related peoples.
