Abstract: The paper discusses the concept of "grammatical system" and different approaches to constructing a grammatical system of a natural language, describes the specific features of the grammar of the Russian sign language, and substantiates the choice of the approach to the construction of the grammatical system of the Russian sign language as well as its structure.
