Abstract: This article analyzes the novel «The Heart of Parma, or Cherdyn – the Princess of mountains» by Ivanov. The author considers the genre nature of the work as novel of myth to show the principles of reconstruction of the images of Ural in the writer’s works. The researcher concluded that the relationship between the deep past and present interpretation identified Stefanievsky myth in the novel.
